3D Scanning & Reverse Engineering

  • 25µm/0.001" Precision

The 3D laser scanner has incredible precision and resolution. Scanning can be done on any type of stable solid.

  • CAD File Generationg

The 3D point cloud is processed and compared against precision measurement equipment, qage blocks/pins, to generate 3D or 2D CAD files in any format. These files are sufficient for replication of the component geometry.

  • Manufacturing QC

A semi or fully-automated scanning process can be used to measure the variability and statistics of a manufactured component, and compare those measurements combined with a master design file and run Monte Carlo simulation(s) to generate valuable quality control monitoring and analysis.

  • Materials Analysis

There are a number of methods to determine the material make-up of a component or part of a component. Depending on the material and the analysis required, there are a wide range of analysis techniques to determine a material’s composition. XRF is used to determine atomic compositions, which is used to determine metal alloy or compound atomic compositions. For plastics and organic compounds a variety of techniques are imposed, including NMR, FTIR, and other spectrographic and chemical testing techniques.
